Books builds two reports for you from the transactions you’ve already recorded. Open them from the Expenses page, where the Treasurer’s Report and Budget Report tabs appear once Books is on.
Treasurer’s Report
This is the report you read out at meetings. For each account it shows the opening balance, deposits, disbursements, and closing balance for the period. Two subsections, Income Not Belonging To The Association and Expenses Not Belonging To The Association, list pass-through funds you’re only holding. The full amount still appears in the account’s totals, and the pass-through portion is repeated in these subsections. It covers the CAPTA monthly (F-2) and annual (F-6) reports.
You can switch the reference column between Disbursement # (Volo Cash’s own numbering) and Check / txn # (the check or payment number you entered).
Budget Report
This compares your plan to reality: for each category it shows Budgeted, Actual, and Remaining, grouped into income and expenses. It covers the CAPTA budget report (F-1).
Choosing the period
Both reports start with quick presets, Last month and This fiscal year, plus from/to date fields for any custom range.
After you download a report, the next visit offers a one-click preset for the following period. Run April’s Treasurer’s Report, and next month a button for May is waiting, so you don’t re-enter dates every time.
Saving and sharing
View a report on screen, or download it as a PDF for your records or a CSV to work with in a spreadsheet.
